Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Agreement”) govern all delivery, transportation, and logistics services provided by Get It Picked (“Company”, “Carrier”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). By using our services, creating an account, or tendering shipments, the Customer (“Client”, “Shipper”, or “Account Holder”) agrees to the following:

1. Rates & Charges

  • Rates apply only to shipments billed to the approved account.
  • Where both per shipment rates and CWT (hundredweight) rates apply, per shipment rates shall prevail.
  • All rates are subject to change without prior notice unless agreed to in writing.
  • Additional charges may apply, including but not limited to:
    • Waiting time
    • Re-delivery attempts
    • After-hours service
    • Remote or extended delivery areas
    • Special handling

3. Invoicing & Payment Terms

  • Invoices are generated on the 1st of every month.
  • Payment is due within 15 days of invoice date.
  • Overdue balances may be subject to:
    • Interest charges of 1.5% per month (18% annually)
    • Account suspension without notice
    • Conversion to Pre-Payments
    • Cancellation of negotiated rates
  • The Customer is responsible for all collection and legal costs incurred in recovering unpaid balances.

4. Payment Methods

  • Get It Picked accepts the following payment methods:
    • E-Transfer (Interac e-Transfer) , EFT
    • Online payments via Stripe (credit/debit cards)
  • Payment instructions will be provided on the invoice.
  • The Customer is responsible for ensuring payment is completed within the agreed terms regardless of payment method used.
  • Any transaction fees, failed payments, or chargebacks may result in additional charges and/or account suspension.

5. Method of Payment and Responsibility

  • All shipments must be prepaid or guaranteed by the shipper.
  • For “Collect” shipments:
    • A valid account number must be provided
    • Failure to provide valid details will result in charges billed back to the shipper
  • The shipper remains fully liable for all charges, including refused or unpaid shipments.

6. Billing Dispute

  • Any invoice discrepancies must be reported within 30 days of invoice date.
  • Failure to do so will be considered acceptance of all charges.

7. Claims & Libility

a. Liability

  • Carrier liability is limited to $2.00 per pound based on actual weight.
  • No claims will be accepted under $40.00.
b. Insurence
  • Insurance is optional and available through the Get It Picked app at the time of booking.
  • Shipments are NOT insured by default.
  • If insurance is not selected, shipments travel entirely at the shipper’s risk, and no compensation will be provided unless otherwise agreed in writing.
c. Time Limits For Claims
  • Concealed Damage: Must be reported within 24 hours  of delivery
  • Loss or Damage: Must be reported within 24 hours  of delivery
  • Non-Delivery: Must be reported within 24 hours  from shipment date
  • Initial notification of any issue must be made within 24 hours of delivery

Failure to meet these timelines may result in claim denial.

d. Packging & Fragile Items
  • The shipper is solely responsible for proper packaging and labeling.
  • Fragile items must be clearly labeled with “FRAGILE” stickers and proper handling instructions.
  • Improperly packaged or unlabeled fragile items will travel at shipper’s risk.
  • Get It Picked assumes no liability for damage due to insufficient packaging.
e. Shipper's Risk Items

The following are transported at shipper’s risk (no liability):

  • Glass, ceramics, fragile goods
  • Liquids
  • Perishable goods
  • Temperature-sensitive items
  • Personal or used goods
f. Proof of Pickup & Delivery
  • Get It Picked provides:
    • Proof of Pickup (POP) including item condition
    • Proof of Delivery (POD) including delivery condition
    • Photo confirmation
    • GPS tracking verification
    • Event logs and timestamps
    • Signature Delivery
  • These records serve as final and conclusive evidence of:
    • Shipment condition at pickup
    • Successful delivery
  • If delivery is confirmed through photo and GPS, the shipment will be considered successfully delivered, and no claims for loss or non-delivery will be accepted thereafter.
g. Circumstances Beyond Control (Force Majeure)

Get It Picked shall not be liable for loss, delay, or failure due to:

  • Weather conditions
  • Accidents or road closures
  • Natural disasters
  • Civil unrest or labor disruptions
  • System or communication failures
  • Incorrect shipment information provided by the shipper
  • Act of God

8. Re-Weigh & Dimensional Weight

  • Get It Picked reserves the right to:
    • Re-weigh shipments
    • Apply dimensional (cubic) weight pricing
  • Charges will be based on the greater of actual or dimensional weight.

9. Dangerous Goods

  • All dangerous goods must be declared and properly documented.
  • Failure to declare may result in:
    • Minimum $100 penalty
    • Shipment refusal or delay
  • The shipper assumes full responsibility for any fines, damages, or legal consequences.

10. Additional Charges

  • Cleaning fee: Minimum $150 for spills or leakage
  • Shipper is responsible for damage caused to other freight
  • Additional service fees may apply where required

11. Consequential Loss

  • Get It Picked shall not be liable for indirect or consequential damages, including:
    • Loss of profit
    • Loss of business
    • Operational delays

12. Right to Refuse Service

  • Get It Picked reserves the right to refuse, cancel, or suspend service at its sole discretion.

13. Governing Law

  • This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia, Canada.

14. Acceptance

By using Get It Picked services, the Customer confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
